A Tale of Robyn Hoode

If you have ever wanted to be part of a tale full of heroism and heart, then here is your chance!

Based on three of the oldest Child Ballads, the Baron's Men proudly present A Tale of Robyn Hoode, an original work penned and directed by long-time Baron's Men sharers Laura Trezise and Aaron Niemuth.  This fun performance featuring everyone's favorite medieval anti-hero will delight audiences both young and old. While focusing on staying true to the original ballad form, we have provided plenty of nods to the more modern audiences views of this noble outlaw as well.

Beginning with our scoundrel Robyn Hoode lamenting he has no guest with which to dine, his fellow woodsmen "persuade" the traveling knight, Sir Richard, to join Robyn for a meal deep in their forest hideaway. However, Robyn and his merry men soon find themselves embroiled in Richard's struggle to retain his lands from the greedy officers out to line their own pockets. Moving from there into Robyn's long history with the villainous Sheriff of Nottingham, an archery tournament (resulting in a grand melee that is not to be missed!), and Robyn's first (and unforgettable) meeting with the spirited Mistress Marian, our story journeys through territory both familiar and new.

We bring this ballad to life on stage of The Curtain Theater during the month of October this fall. Be sure not to miss out on the Baron's Men's refreshing take on the much-beloved telling of the courtly romance and action-packed adventures of this classic scoundrel's legend!
