The Lark

It is with great pleasure that we announce the cast for The Baron’s Men’s May 2016 production of Jean Anouilh’s The Lark, adapted by Lillian Hellman. This English version of the play was first performed on Broadway in 1955. The 15th century trial of Joan of Arc was one of the best-documented events of its time and kind. With The Lark, Anouilh gives us a theatrical tour de force: a beautifully written history with a tragic tale at its center that is, nonetheless, infused with wry comedy. In keeping with The Baron’s Men’s artistic mission, the production will be staged for performance at Richard Garriott’s Curtain Theater and will feature period costumes and live music.
